Partnership for Success harnesses the power of education to transform lives and strengthen communities.
Partnership for Success (PFS) is more than an academic program—it is a space where students are encouraged to explore, discover, and grow. Through enriching experiences beyond the traditional classroom, PFS sparks curiosity, nurtures a love of learning, and creates joyful opportunities for students to engage with new ideas, places, and possibilities. By offering experiences they might not ordinarily have during the school year, PFS helps plant seeds for the future, broadens horizons, and inspires scholars to dream big about who they are and who they can become

Our Programs
Our programs extend beyond the classroom, offering mentoring, college counseling, and career exploration that help students build confidence, expand their horizons, and envision their future.
-
We deliver five weeks of intensive academic enrichment each summer, spanning math, science, and language arts, with small class sizes typically limited to 15 learners. Taught by dedicated instructors and supported by college-age interns—many of whom are program alumni—students develop strong academic habits through consistent practice, feedback, and high expectations. Exposure to art, culture, and athletics complements classroom learning, fostering curiosity and readiness for secondary school and beyond.
-
We guide Scholars through a comprehensive college counseling program that begins in 9th grade and continues through high school graduation. Students explore campuses, build college lists, draft personal statements, and learn how to finance their education—with support every step of the way. With nearly 80% of Scholars the first in their families to attend college, this guidance is transformative: 100% of PFS graduates are accepted to college.
-
We expose students to a wide range of career possibilities through hands-on experiences and guided exploration. By connecting with professionals, visiting workplaces, and participating in workshops and site visits, students gain insight into different industries and pathways. These experiences help students build self-awareness, identify interests and strengths, and make informed decisions about their education and future—bridging the gap between learning in the classroom and life beyond school.
-
We connect students with caring mentors who offer guidance, encouragement, and real-world perspective. Through meaningful relationships with professionals, community leaders, and PFS alumni, students gain exposure to diverse life paths and career journeys. Mentors share their stories, support students’ growth, and help them build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging—giving students trusted role models as they navigate school, identity, and their future possibilities.
-
We cultivate strong connections between students and the communities that support them. Through partnerships with local organizations, cultural institutions, and community leaders, students engage in service, civic learning, and collaborative projects. These experiences help students understand their role in the community, develop empathy and leadership skills, and see how collective action creates impact—strengthening their sense of belonging while reinforcing the importance of giving back beyond the classroom.
PUSD Partner Schools
Each year, principals from Pasadena’s public elementary schools identify 4th grade students who demonstrate strong academic curiosity, personal potential, and would benefit from access to high-quality summer enrichment. Selected students officially join PFS the summer before 5th grade and participate in the program for nine consecutive summers, continuing through high school and culminating in a supported transition to college.
This school-based selection process helps ensure that students who may not otherwise have access to enrichment opportunities are identified early and supported consistently over time. For questions on the selection process, please contact us to learn more.
