We guide Scholars through a comprehensive college counseling program that begins in 9th grade and continues through high school graduation. Students explore campuses, build college lists, draft personal statements, and learn how to finance their education—with support every step of the way. With nearly 80% of Scholars the first in their families to attend college, this guidance is transformative: 100% of PFS graduates are accepted to college.

We expose students to a wide range of career possibilities through hands-on experiences and guided exploration. By connecting with professionals, visiting workplaces, and participating in workshops and site visits, students gain insight into different industries and pathways. These experiences help students build self-awareness, identify interests and strengths, and make informed decisions about their education and future—bridging the gap between learning in the classroom and life beyond school.

We connect students with caring mentors who offer guidance, encouragement, and real-world perspective. Through meaningful relationships with professionals, community leaders, and PFS alumni, students gain exposure to diverse life paths and career journeys. Mentors share their stories, support students’ growth, and help them build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging—giving students trusted role models as they navigate school, identity, and their future possibilities.

We cultivate strong connections between students and the communities that support them. Through partnerships with local organizations, cultural institutions, and community leaders, students engage in service, civic learning, and collaborative projects. These experiences help students understand their role in the community, develop empathy and leadership skills, and see how collective action creates impact—strengthening their sense of belonging while reinforcing the importance of giving back beyond the classroom.
